Hello Sunrise Preschool Families!
Here are a couple of reminders and items for you to be aware of:
Sunrise Preschool has a Tuition program and a Special Education program. We do free Special Education evaluations for children ages 3-5 who are referred for developmental concerns and live in Provo. If you know somebody who has concerns about the development of their preschool-age child, please let them know about Sunrise Preschool! If your child is in the Tuition program and you have concerns about his or her development, please reach out to your child’s teacher.
Parent and family support in a child’s education can make all the difference!
This week, you can support your child’s education by learning about, and becoming familiar with, the PEEP assessment.
Did you know that preschoolers have a State Assessment they take the school year before Kindergarten? It’s called the PEEP and it stands for Preschool Entry & Exit Profile. You might be familiar with the KEEP, which is the Kindergarten Entry & Exit Profile that is given to all Kindergarteners. The PEEP assessment is given once at the beginning of the school year and once at the end of the school year and focuses on three areas: Literacy (Reading), Numeracy (Math), and Lifelong Learning Practices.
I’ve attached a copy of the PEEP assessment questions below. If your child will be entering Kindergarten next school year, the teacher will provide you with a copy of your child’s entry report at SEP conferences (Nov 2-4).
If your child is going to be absent, please call the front office at 801-374-4915 to excuse the absence. Your child’s education is important to us, so we ask that you make your student’s attendance a priority when possible. There are times, such as with illness, that it is appropriate to keep your child at home. The sick policy from the Utah County Health Department is posted on our website for your reference.
